19th overall out of 5.8K entries to GMTK 2021!

We are over the moon to see that TetherGeist made 19th in the popular vote! Out of the 5812 entries, that puts TetherGiest in the top 0.3% of the games in this Jam (nuts!). Sure, Mark didn't pick us for his personal top 20, but we attribute that to him knowing our game is incredible and he just wanted to distribute attention to some of the other less-noticed games ;) And hey, TetherGeist still pops up  in Mark's video at 21 seconds.. so there's that lol.

So what's next for TetherGeist?

As promised, we're working on a free post-jam version with bug fixes and many improvements based on all of the outstanding feedback we got during the jam from you guys. We're also creating several new levels to further explore the mechanics we developed in the jam. Expect to see the post jam version uploaded in about a week.

We're also playing with the idea of building this into a feature-length game. While I (Jordan) have made many jam games as a solo dev, this is the first game I've made a game with a team. I'm being totally honest when I say working with this new team for the jam was magical. Everyone worked together so well and each person brought some killer talent to the team. I feel we have something special here and we shouldn't snuff the magic just because a 48-hour jam is over. We also can't ignore the overwhelmingly positive feedback we got in the comments from the 100+ reviews we received. So we're feeling encouraged to pursue this idea further. More to come on that.
